Sister Marylou McFadden R.

Sister Marylou McFadden, a.k.a. Sister Charles Maureen, 67 of the Sisters of Mercy, died on October 23, 2005 at Lankenau Hospital.

In addition ot her religious family, Sister Marylou is survived by her sister, Kathleen Heffelfinger of Allentown; brothers, Daniel of Boca, FL and Thomas of South Pasadena, FL. In 1959, Sister Marylou professed vows as a Sister of Mercy. She earned a B.A. in Humanities from Gwynedd-Mercy College, and an M.S. in Guidance/Administration from the University of Dayton.

Sister Marylou taught elementary school from 1959 to 1971, at Maternity BVM, Phila., St. Barbara School, Phila., St. Malachy School, Phila., Sacred Heart School., Danville, Gwynedd-Mercy Academy, St. John School, Hapeville, GA., and St. Philip Neri School, East Greenville, PA. In 1970, Sister Marylou became principal of St. Philip Neri School and in 1977 became principal of Waldron Mercy Academy. Sister was principal at Waldron until 1984 when she then became Director of Guidance at Gwynedd Mercy Academy, Upper School. Sister Marylou was at Gwynedd Mercy Academy until 2004 when she went on sabbatical.
