Matthew J. Fasbinder was born on September15, 1934. Matthew was surrounded by his family when he passed peacefully at home on Monday May 4, 2026, Born and raised in Phila, Pa. Matthew served in the US Army. He had a long successful career where he worked as a Forman Rigger at the Phila. Navy Yard. Matthew took great pride in calling the shots as an umpire on the little league field with his boys. He had a love for billiards as well as watching various sports with all his children. Matthew lived a life filled with love and laughter. He had an innate ability to pick up someone’s spirit with a smile or a well composed letter whether serious or humorous. Matthew often showed his soft side and sense of humor with his grandchildren. Matthew was a devoted husband, wonderful father and grandfather (lovingly known as Pop Pop Boo Boo). Matthew shared 57 devoted years with his late wife Dolores-who he affectionately referred to as his loving bride is preceded in death by his son Stephen. Matthew is remembered as a loving father to Teresa White, Matthew (Jennifer), Thomas (Patricia), Paul (Winie), Robert, Barbara (David) Troop, Bonnie (William) Jennings, Elaine Kay, Edward (Wendy), and Richard (Tina). His legacy continues through his large and cherished family, including 20 grandchildren and 28 greatgrandchildren Gathering to honor Matthew’s life is Friday May 29th, 2026, from 9-10:15 am at St. Joseph Church 3255 Concord Rd. Aston, PA Followed by a Funeral mass at 10:30 am Interment: Mt. Hope cemetery. Donations: In lieu of flowers donations in Matthew’s name can be made to a charity of your choice.
