Michael Domizio, “Weasel”, age 78, born on December 31, 1943, passed December 12, 2022 of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of Overbrook.

Michael was a graduate of St. Callistus grade school and St. Tommy More High School. He then went on to serve as a Sgt. in the US Army from 1965 – 1967 during the Vietnam Era.

Michael was a Philadelphia firefighter and EMT for 22 years. After retiring from the Philadelphia Fire Department he worked for the Philadelphia Housing Authority for over 10 years.

In his retirement, he was actively involved in Honor Flight Philadelphia. He was also a parishioner of St. Anastasia. Michael was an avid walker, a loyal fan of all Philadelphia sports teams and a horse racing enthusiast.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rose (Formato) Domizio and his brother, Joseph Domizio.

Survived by his beloved wife Catherine (nee Apoian), his loving children Erica Kidwell (John), Marlena DiGiacomo (Daniel), Michael Domizio (Adrienne), his sister Anne Spinogatti (Bruno), sister-in-law Rafaline Domizio. Also survived by his adored grandchildren Gabriella and Grace DiGiacomo, Vivienne, Michael, and Maxwell Domizio, his nieces and nephews Joseph, Andrea, Dana, Maryanna, Daniel, David, Steven, Cristina, Jonathan and Allessandra.

Memorial Donations in Michael’s memory may be made to Honor Flight Philadelphia via PO Box 003, Broomall, PA 19008.

Friends & Family are invited to Michaels’s visitation at St. Anastasia Church 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073 From 9:30 – 10:45 AM followed by Mass at 11:00 AM ALL IN CHURCH, followed by his internment at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.

Dear Cath and Family, I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Mike. He was an awesome husband and father. I enjoyed the times when he would come up to Overbrook right before the Christmas Break to accompany Mr. and Mrs. Santa. He was the only "non" Overbrook for the Blind employee who was allowed to walk our track everyday!! Mike was so hilarious! I always got a kick out of him when he would say, "Marguerite, Cath is trying to get rid of me. We have mash potatoes for dinner tonight". Mike was such a nice man, always concerned about others. I will miss him dearly. Cath and Family, you've had lots of year, enjoying your husband and father, and I know that you will miss him dearly. There is an emptiness and sadness, but earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot cure. You all are in my prayers, and will remain there. May God's peace rest upon you. I am so sad to hear of Mike's passing. Grew up with the Domizio family on 66th Street and then moved to Newtown Square where I would see Mike all the time, walking! Gonna miss him! Condolences to family.

To Cathy and the entire Domizio family. I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I always have fond memories of him both at our house as I was growing up and at the Firehouse when I would visit my Dad. Unfortunately I will be unable to attend his services on Monday due to work obligations however my thoughts and prayers will be with you all during this difficult time and holiday season. So sorry for your loss, I have many fond memories of the Domizio Family growing up on. 66th Street. I hope that he is at peace and with his parents and brother.

It is with great sadness that I write this letter. I just want to express my deepest sympathy for the Domizio family and my brother John. The Boss (Mike) that’s what I have always referred to him as was a gentleman and a person that was respected by everyone that met him. He was a man of few words but spoke volumes to all that knew him. Like most people with his kind of personality, I’m sure he didn’t realize how much he was loved and respected. I didn’t know the Boss for a long time but I’ve been around most of his family and without anyone ever saying a word his power was conveyed to me. You can see through his wife and children the kind of man he was and the respect my brother always showed for him told me a lot. My sincere condolences to you and your family. I am the daughter of James “Jimmy” Fiorentino. My father was one of your fathers, best friends through grade school and in high school. My father and I are very very close. We talk often, and I have heard several several stories and memories about Mike Domizio. When I broke the news to my father he broke down in tears. My father rarely cries. He called your father one of the greatest men he ever knew.

One of the kindest human beings I have ever met. I will miss our driveway talks and his total kindness. Words can’t express my sadness in his passing. Rest peacefully Mike .❤️ Pat &Joe Coonelly
