Michael John Famigletti, Sr., 97, of Morton, PA passed away peacefully at Naamans Creek Country Manor on May 16, 2026, just days shy of his 98th birthday. He said he was hoping to reach 100!
Born on May 25, 1928, to the late Dominic and Margaret Famigletti, Mike grew up in Southwest Philadelphia and was a 1946 West Catholic High School graduate who furthered his education at Drexel Institute of Technology for Mechanical Engineering, Villanova University’s annex for Mechanical Design Physics, and the Philadelphia Museum School of Art for Graphic Design.
He retired from a 41-year career with General Electric as a Sr. Designer Engineering Draftsman, where he was also a member of the “Switchgear GE Friars” Dais Comedy Writers which celebrated 25-year employee milestones. To this day, some of Mike’s classic jokes are still echoed within our own households! Mike was also a proud veteran who served as Staff Sgt. in the Korean War. He was a 4th-Degree Sir Knight of the Knights of Columbus, formerly of Council 11317 in Spring Hill, FL and most recently the De La Salle Council 590 in Springfield, PA. He was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Morton and formerly served as President of the OLPH Over 50 Seniors Club.
Mike always had a pen at the ready in his shirt pocket to tackle any newspaper crossword or cryptogram with ease. A pen, mind you. No mistakes. He frequently enjoyed homemade wine bottled by both his son, Michael, and son-in-law, Rick. He also enjoyed watching Johnny Carson reruns every night while getting ready for bed hoping to see legendary comedians such as Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope and Red Skelton. Mike was a Frank Sinatra fan, enjoyed classic cars, and passed shortly after watching his Phillies play.
A truly devoted family man, Mike was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Anna Mae (nee Daloia), brothers Richard and John, and eldest son Michael, Jr. (Patricia). He is survived by his daughters Michele (John) Luczeczko and Maureen (Rick) Carbonara, son Mark (Linda), and his cherished grandchildren Nicole, Timothy (Megan), Joseph, Michael, Meghan, and Miranda, along with two great-granddaughters Lucy and Olivia.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Thursday, June 4th at 9:00 am – 10:15 am at the Danjolell-Stigale Memorial Home, 3260 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014. Service: 10:30 am in our Main Chapel. Interment will be at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Broomall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michael’s name may be made to Main Line Health Home Care & Hospice.
