Russo, Michael J. “Mikie”, age 69, of Broomall, PA, Formerly of Overbrook, passed away on June 23, 2025.

Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Donna M. (nee DiDonato) Russo, his children, Michelle Himes (Jim), Donnamarie Ryan (Chris), Michael A. Russo and Lauren Mammucari (Eric), his six grandchildren, Vincent, Veronica, Matthew, Ava, Mia, and Sonny.

Predeceased by his parents, Catherine (nee Madonna) and Patsy Russo, and his brothers, Louis and Johnny Russo.

Mikie enjoyed having his family around him and watching his grandchildren grow. He enjoyed keeping many family traditions alive, especially Sunday dinners and Christmas decorating and baking. He loved to make people laugh and enjoyed conversations with many good friends.

Relatives & friends are invited to his Viewing Sunday evening, June 29th 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the DAnjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008 and Monday, June 30th 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM followed by his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM ALL IN CHURCH at St. Pius X Church 220 Lawrence Rd, Broomall, PA 19008. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.

Mike Russo was a dear friend whose laughter and quick wit brought light to every room. He had a gift for spreading joy --especially through his many jokes. I'll never forget the time when me, Mike and Joey DelGrippo were away on a hunting trip and Mike made me laugh so hard I had Oreos cookies come out of my nose. That's just one of countless memories I'll cherish forever. Rest easy, Mike -- your humor and spirit live on in our hearts.

I just heard today of Mikie's passing and my heart is broken. Donna and family you are in my heart and prayers. Mike was one of the funniest people that I ever met. I have such fond memories of the Russo family❤️Rest in peace Mikie.

My beautiful, funny, crazy cousin. I have prolonged this moment. Laughing just a week or so ago together. Our phone conversations were epic. Just like you and aunt Ruth and that was us too. Thank you for your big love. Since I’m a lil’ girl you have always been like an angel, and a protector. You made me laugh always, and acted like a big brother to me my whole life. You kept our family traditions and the culture alive in all of us. For some reason I’m comforted knowing your parents, and brother’s are with you and my mom and grandma and grandpa too. My heart breaks for you Donna I’m so sorry and the kids too- Together you and Mikie made this big loving family. He was so proud of his children and the life you made together. We will never forget the day we moved next door to Mike and Donna. It was super hot outside and Mike came over to welcome us with ice cold bottled water and a huge bowl of cut up watermelon. We were so touched and grateful. What a neighborhood welcome!

I met Mike over 20 years ago when I went on a bear hunting trip with my good friend Tim Rowland and his father Art who was a good friend of Mike's. I remember laying in my bed in the bunk room and listening to Mike tell jokes. Needless to say we didn't sleep much that night. Mike was a standup guy. A real friend when you needed one. And no matter what he always had a joke or 2 to tell when we spoke on the phone. He surely will be missed. I pray for the entire Russo family and pray God guides you through this tough time. Growing up with him on 66th Street was a experience, a great experience. He kept us in stitches, laughing till be wet our pants. I just know he is with his Mom & Dad and his Brothers.
