Mike and I worked well together for many years as the VVA Chapter 67 banner carriers. As a couple of old sailors we navigated the many parade routes with ease. I could always count on Mike to provide me with accurate meeting minutes to publish in the Chapter newsletter and on the Chapter website. It was a pleasure knowing you and working with you, Mike. Rest in Peace.

Michael was a true friend to his close companion, Barbara Peterman. He helped her out whenever he could and was there for her during the tough times. He had a great sense of humor and will be remembered for his friendly smile.

Michael will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to Barbara Peterman, his dear friend of over 40 years. Michael would not give up on people or causes. I admire him for his ability to stay the course throughout his life. He also was known for his patriotism; he was very proud to serve in the Navy during the 1970's Vietnam era. I think it was at that time that Michael developed a keen appreciation of beer and ale. We should raise a beer stein in remembrance today. Am certain Michael would approve.

Underway, shift Colors from the quarterdeck to the bridge. Set sail to the Promised Land. Have the chief Bos'n get the sideboys. Render a hand salute. Saint Peter open the gate. A Tin Can Sailor is arriving!!
Jim Donegan, Class of 1965 left a message on September 30, 2024:
As St. James Class of 1965, I was fortunate to have Mike as a classmate. Like Mike I also answered the call to serve my country. I am a Marine Vietnam Veteran. As a life member of the Delaware County Vietnam Veterans of America, I saw Mike as an officer pour years of his life into helping other people. Mike was always that person dedicated to helping others and will always be remembered that way. Farewell my brother in arms.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

May you rest in eternal peace Mike. Mike and I worked close together within VVA Chapter 67, he as secretary and myself as president. We worked on many projects together as well as having some fun times camping and Chapter functions. Mike was a true asset to the Chapter and he will be missed.
