With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Miriam Echevarria, who departed this life on February 25, 2026, at the age of 66.
Miriam was born on February 8, 1960, in Maunabo, Puerto Rico. From the very beginning, she was a precious gift. Born with Down syndrome, Miriam lived her life with a radiant and joyful spirit that touched everyone she met. Her life was a beautiful reflection of resilience, purity of heart, and unconditional love.
Miriam loved to dance — whenever music played, her feet would move and her smile would shine. She had a laugh that was contagious and filled every room with warmth. Her joy was simple and genuine, reminding all of us to treasure life’s smallest blessings. Through her hugs, her laughter, and her bright presence, she taught everyone around her what it truly means to love without limits.
She is survived by her loving brothers, Jose Antonio Echevarria of Chester, and Maximino Echevarria (Maria) of Patillas, Puerto Rico; and her devoted sisters, Marina Echevarria Rivera (Jose) of Brookhaven, PA, and Carmen Lucy Echevarria McGinnis (Jerry) of West Chester, PA. She also leaves behind 11 nieces, 17 nephews, and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Miriam was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eudosia Echevarria and Santos Echevarria; her brother, Jose Luis Echevarria; and her sister, Santa Echevarria.
Though our hearts ache in this earthly goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that Miriam’s beautiful spirit lives on in every joyful song, every shared laugh, and every loving embrace among her family. She leaves behind a legacy of happiness and a reminder that the greatest gift we can give one another is love.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Katherine Drexel Church in Chester, PA, followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. After Mass, burial will follow at Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.
The family is deeply grateful to Edward Borrone for his care and assistance with the funeral arrangements during this difficult time.
Miriam will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. 🤍
