N. Joseph “Joe” Romain, Jr.

N. Joseph “Joe” Romain Jr., of Hermitage, Tennessee, formerly of Broomall, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 17, 2026, at the age of 92.

Born on September 18, 1933, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he spent his formative years in Cleveland, Ohio. Joe was the beloved son of the late Gladys (Mitchell) and Nestor Joseph Romain, Sr., and the cherished brother of the late Lenora Romain Riddle.

Joe was the husband of the late Gloria D. Romain (née D’Emilio), with whom he shared a lifetime of love and family. He is survived by his loving daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” (John) Miller, Susan (Craig) Holden, Lisa (Ron) DiSalle, and Judy (Vito) Nigro, as well as his devoted companion, Peggy Buckner.

He was a proud and devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren: Chelsea (Mike), Tyler, Dana, CJ, Trevor, Rachel, and AJ. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Michael and Mia.

Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and Reserves from 1952 to 1960. His dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence carried over into his civilian career, where he became a highly respected and accomplished salesman in the printing industry, earning recognition as one of the top performers in his field.

Above all, Joe will be remembered as a devoted family man. He was known for his generosity, unwavering support, and his remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. Whether in Broomall, where he spent many years raising his family, or later in Hermitage, Joe built lasting friendships and became part of close-knit communities. He took great pride in his family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved. His legacy of kindness, integrity, and friendship will continue to live on through his family, friends, neighbors, and the countless lives he touched.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the D’Anjolell Memorial Home, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. A funeral service in the Main Chapel will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to Smile Train (smiletrain.org), the Nashville Humane Society (nashvillehumane.org) or a charity of your choice.
