Nicholas M. “Nick” Trofa
February 4, 1953 – November 13, 2025
Nicholas M. Trofa, passed away at the age of 72, peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Nick grew up in Aston, Pennsylvania where he graduated Class of 1971 from Sun Valley High School. After high school, Nick attended the University of Maryland, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. From then on, he was known for his impeccable work ethic which included serving in the United States Air Force for 8 years, and later working as the general manager of The Terrace at Greenhill, Wawa, and The Meat House.
Nick was an active member of the Sons of Italy, and full of Italian pride. In his free time, Nick loved to cook for everyone around him. He was famous for whipping up the most delicious meals at every family occasion, most notably his Caesar Salad and Clam Chowder recipes. Nick also enjoyed golfing with his brothers and friends, and was a life-long Philadelphia sports fan, most recently traveling to Kansas City to watch the Eagles beat the Chiefs, alongside his brother, son, and grandson. In the summer, Nick’s fondest memories were made on family vacations at the Jersey Shore. There was nothing Nick loved more than boardwalk mini-golf, gambling at the casino, and most importantly, showing off his Bar Harbor tan after just a few hours in the sun!
Nick will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, charisma, and strength. Working in the service industry, he knew exactly what people wanted to hear and had a talent for making everyone feel important and valued. Even in the hospital, he won over the nurses with his incredible charm and sense of humor. No matter how sick he got, Nick continued to fight and light up the room. Even in his final weeks, he found the strength to smile, laugh, and lift the spirits of those around him. His greatest testament of courage came in those last days, when he defied the odds and lived to see his daughter in her wedding gown. Despite the pain he carried, Nick made sure this moment became a memory his family would treasure forever.
Family was truly the most important thing to Nick. He was a loving husband to the late AnnJo Nacrelli Trofa, and the devoted son of Anita Trofa and the late Frank Trofa. He was the cherished father of Tina (Alan Cecil) Trofa, Nicky Trofa Jr., Gabby (Vince) Gattuso, and Melissa (Cavan O’Kane) Trofa. He was the dedicated brother of Kathleen (the late Paul) Jones, Frank (Gail) Trofa, Gina Trofa, Michael (Madelyn) Trofa, Anita Trofa Jr., and Maria Trofa. He was also a beloved grandfather to Nicky Trofa, Alyssa Smotherman, and great grandfather to Jaxson Sevy. Nick is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, November 22nd from 9:00-10:30AM at Danjolell–Stigale Memorial Home, located at 3260 Concord Road in Aston, PA.
