Patricia Margaret Galli, the sweetest, kindest, most loving and loyal woman went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after an arduous battle with brain cancer. In these hours of sadness and grief her family is praising the Lord for a life exemplifying the fruits of the Holy Spirit. “Tricia”, as she wished to be called, was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and moved to Cleveland Ohio at age two with her parents George and Muriel Grote accompanied by older sister Maureen. The family then moved to Springfield Pennsylvania where she had the happiest of childhoods before again moving to Broomall Pennsylvania where her parents welcomed a new baby sister Megan. Patricia attended Villa Maria Academy and Immaculata College. She held a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education. After successful years in real estate sales she became a first grade teacher in the Upper Darby School District and served for over thirty years. Retired in 2009 she spent time traveling widely with her husband and enjoying the beaches of New Jersey and the Gulf Coast of Florida. She also twice visited her ancestral countries of Ireland and Germany to experience what her great grand parents lives were like before coming to America. Her sons Joseph and Benjamin are the lights of her life and she spent many hours walking with Ben and watching period dramas on television. Her favorite shows were Poldark and Vera. The three of them were a team of great bargain hunters, always looking for great deals in the supermarket and other stores. She was an active member of the Lionville Pennsylvania YMCA attending chair yoga classes daily and playing Mahjong with close friends that she loved. Nothing could get her out of her favorite chair at home if she was reading an Agatha Christie mystery. But the greatest amount of her time was spent helping others who she hardly knew. Every day she would say “All I want to do is be more like Jesus, read my Bible, obey His teachings and live for others.” This was her constant refrain daily and now she is wrapped up in His everlasting arms for eternity. She is survived by her husband of fifty seven years Joseph, sons Joseph Jr. and Benjamin, sisters Muareen Barr of Brandywine Delaware and Megan Stearns of Sarasota Florida. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society. All funeral arrangements are private and by invitation only. Patricia will be interred in the Galli family plot at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield Pennsylvania.
