GIORLA
Richard, age 85, on February 7, 2026, of Drexel Hill, PA, formerly of Broomall.
Richard was a devoted husband, Father and Pop Pop. He was born in West Philadelphia and attended John Bartram High School. At the age of 19, he joined the Army. He was with the 101st Airborne, 506 Parachute Infantry Regiment, Easy Company Band of Brothers. Richard attended St. Joseph’s College in the food marketing academy. He owned multiple bakeries and worked as a bakery trainer for Country Home Bakers. Richard became a 32nd degree Mason at the Masonic Temple on Broad Street. He belonged to the 196 Equity Lodge. Richard had many passions; He loved animals, motorcycles, dancing, boxing, cooking, the beach and the 76ers. Rich had many friends, he was loved by all.
Predeceased by his parents, Dorothy “Dolly” (nee DiBona) and Bernard John Giorla, and his brother, Bernard “Bernie” Giorla.
Survived by his wife, Tina Marie (nee DiPrinzio) Giorla, his four children, Richard G. Giorla (Vera), Lisa Parker (Frank), Danielle Paterno (Bill), Audrey Basile (Bill), his three stepsons, James McDevitt (Judy), Christopher McDevitt (Cristina), and Matthew McDevitt (Stormie), his 10 grandchildren, his two great-grandchildren, and his brother, Ronald, and his sister-in-law, Rita Giorla.
Relatives & friends are invited to his Visitation, Saturday, February 14th, 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM followed by his Memorial Service 3:00 PM in the Main Chapel at the DAnjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. Inurnment Private.
