Robert Malin, of Aston, formerly of SW Phila. peacefully passed away on December 21, 2024, at Fair Acres in Media, Pa.
Originally, born in West Philadelphia, “Bob” never graduated from nearby St Thomas More, but instead enlisted in the US Navy as a radar officer on board the USS Missouri during the Korean War. He worked at Cuneo Press for a short time as well as the Railroad.
At the age of 45 Bob completed a course at the University of Penn on the banking language known as COBOL and worked for First Pennsylvania Bank for several years as a loan programmer. Not only was he a huge Notre Dame fan, but he liked having Milkshakes for dinner to go along with his Hershey Bar!
He enjoyed baseball as a youth and passed on his love of the game to all his children.
We will miss his “whistling” throughout the day and his little songs and poems he would recite.
He was faithful to his church and loved Jesus. We will see you again in heaven “Pop”.
