Rose Martini
1947 – 2022
Rose Martini, age 74, of Haverford, PA, formerly of the Washington, DC area, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away August 27, 2022. She was born and raised in West Philadelphia, and was immensely proud of her Italian American heritage. She is survived by her loving sons Christopher and Stephen (Alexis) Battista, granddaughters Emma and Luciana Battista, siblings Renee Calabrese (Louis), Roberta Calabrese (Michael), Yvonne Martini, Alice Doyle (Michael), James Martini (Robert Aswell), Pat Martini (Nora), and many cherished nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her loving siblings Dominick Martini (Kathleen), Adeline Maffei (John), and adored parents Adeline and Pasquale Martini.
Rose resided in Virginia for many years and was an alumna of University of Maryland, College Park. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle, traveling the world, and socializing with family and friends. She was a CPA and took flying lessons in pursuit of a pilot’s license. She was a founding member of the VA chapter of the Women in the Wind, International motorcycle club, having had many fun adventures with them that she truly relished. Rose was ceaselessly passionate about her family, and always enjoyed hosting dinners as well as attending family holiday and special occasion festivities at which she will be profoundly missed.
Our family is grateful to know that Rose is finally at peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, September 9, 2022, 10:00 to 11:00 AM, D’Anjolell Memorial Homes and Crematory, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA. A blessing in the chapel will follow (same location). Internment at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S Sproul Road, Springfield, PA. Luncheon reception following at Anthony’s Ristorante at Springfield, 865 W Springfield, PA.
