Sarkis Elias Kazanjian, 78, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024 after a courageous battle with a recent illness.
Sarkis was born on June 13, 1945 in Salt, Jordan to Elias ElArmani Kazanjian and Dalyah Dogum. For a period of time he lived in the Armenian Community in Jerusalem with his family prior to his immigrating to the United States in December of 1958. He resided in Havertown, PA and attended Sacred Heart School. A proud Veteran, he entered the United States Army in 1965 and was stationed in Germany until 1968 when he was honorably discharged. A man of many trades and skill, he eventually worked with his brother Yacub(Jack) in the Carpet and Real Estate industry until his passing.
He was a man of great intellect and was fluent in Arabic, Armenian, English, German and Greek. He was of quick wit and was fiercely independent and loyal; he was a friend to many in the Armenian, Arab and Greek Communities for many years. He was extremely generous and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a very proud individual, especially of his heritage and family, and that he was the son of a survivor of the Armenian Genocide.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Ibrahim, Yacub(Jack), Hovannes(John), George, Artin(Harry), Azad and sisters Miriam Dervishian and Wardeh(Rose) Kawar.
Survived by brothers Anton(Tony) and Hovig, sisters in law Georgette, Alice and Raghda and many loving and adoring nephews, nieces and extended family.
