Sister Mary Rita Robinson RSM

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Mary Rita Robinson RSM, age 96, a member of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, who died peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2022, at McAuley Convent.

All for Thee, heart of Jesus: Sister Mary Rita’s motto, which she lived everyday of her life, giving of herself in so many ways to her ministries. Sister Mary Rita had the heart of a compassionate healer and a relentless advocate for her patients. Earning a BSN from Villanova and an MSN from Catholic University of America in Maternal and Child Health, Sister worked as a pediatric nurse at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital for 20 years, where her gentle, caring way brought hope and healing to so many. For almost 20 years, Mary Rita was a faculty member at Gwynedd Mercy University, instructing future nurses in the profession she loved.

In her later years, Sister began a new ministry at Misericordia Hospital, later called Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia, where she worked in Patient Relations from 1994 to 2014.

Despite her busy life and ministry, Mary Rita loved being with her family, especially her sisters: “our Kit and Tre” and spoke lovingly and proudly of her nieces and nephews.
