Sister Therese Marie Kenny

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Therese Marie Kenny, RSM, age 94, a member of The Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, who died peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023. Therese aptly lived up to the image of her patron saint: the Little Flower She was a woman clothed in Mercy, who touched everyone she met with her gentle loving spirit. Therese began her ministry in Mercy as a nurse at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital and later at Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia. She extended her nursing skills to include school nurse at Cardinal Dougherty High School, Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School and Walsingham Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia. No matter what her ministry was, whether as a nurse, computer teacher, learning center teacher or office assistant, Therese gave her all in a loving, tender and compassionate manner. Therese was a great supporter of the United States Postal Service, filling the out box with cards letters and remembrances of anyone and everyone she met over the years. Therese will be fondly remembered for her many visits to the sisters at McAuley Convent on her electric scooter as well as her rides around the convent grounds. The students at Waldron Mercy Academy always looked forward to sister stopping by.
