William J. Swahl”Bill”1943 ~ 2021William J. Swahl, age 77, of Garnet Valley, PA passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021.Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 29, 1943, the son of late William and Clara Swahl, and brother of the late Maryanne Carlberg and Rosemarie Courtney. He attended John Bartram High and then enlisted in the Navy serving on the USS Kohn during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bill began his career as an apprentice with Sun Shipbuilding Company in the early 60’s where he was employed for the next 20 years. He then went on to work at General Dynamics in Massachusetts and returned home to Pennsylvania where he eventually started his own consulting company, Colony Place Consulting. Bill was most proud of his work with Rhoads Industries, helping to grow their business by creating jobs and opportunities all while sharing his knowledge mentoring and nurturing relationships. Bill loved dancing with his wife Vera, spending time with family and friends and rarely missed an opportunity to play a round of golf. Over the years, he was a dedicated fan at many of his grandchildren’s sporting events, and in his free time you could find him playing cards & billiards at the Club House with many of his friends at Fox Hill Farms.Survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Vera (nee Bonanno) Swahl, his two adoring children, Vera Barnard (Ed), and Bill Swahl (Judy); his four cherished grandchildren, Eddie Barnard (Sara), Jenna Barnard, Billy Swahl and Julia Swahl and dear sister-in-law, Dolores Galloway (Ken).
