Yolanda D’Alfonso, 87, formerly of Broomall, PA, quietly passed into eternal life on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Davis Manor, Mountain Top.
She was born Yolanda Zanfrisco on September 14, 1920, in Naples, Italy. She was a surviver of a German interment camp during WWII. Mrs. D’Alfonso immigrated to the United States on June 21, 1947, aboard the Marine Perch and became an American citizen in March 1955. She married Albert D’Afonso on September 18, 1949 and together they raised two sons and a daughter. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt who doted on her family, who were the focus of her affections and center of her life. Following a series of illnesses, she moved to Mountain Top in 2001 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and John Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; sister, Flora and brothers, Gennaro and Salvatore Rino Zanfrisco.
She is survived by her sons, Robert of Lansdale, PA, and Mario of Marlton, NJ; daughter, Lisa and her husband John Thompson of Mountain Top; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Celeste Zanfrisco of West Grove, PA, Giuseppe and Oeooubi and Anna Zanfrisco of Civitavecchia, Italy and Lucia Zanfrisco of Reggio Emilia, Italy; four grandchildren, Robert, Mark, Nicole and Mario; one great grandchild, Dominic and twenty-nine nieces and nephews in the United States.
